SESSION DATES AND DETAILS

July 23–25, 2024

Kickoff Session In-Person

Location: Carlisle, PA

Visit: U.S. Army War College

Join us at the Leader of Leaders Collaborative to learn from the United States Army War College. Here, military and international leaders at the height of their careers come to continue their development and prepare for the future. Principals will tour the campus, explore the interactive Futures Lab and talk with leaders enrolled in the college. As leaders, they will learn from the experiences that align with their leadership in schools.

• How do senior leaders view the opportunity for intellectual development?

• In what ways do leaders think about the engagement and morale of those they lead?

• As change is constant, how do leaders prepare themselves and those they lead to maintain the direction and adapt to change?

In-Person Session

The Leader of Leaders Collaborative will explore two very different learning environments in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the Ignite Academy and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. Through tours, talking with students, and interacting with exhibits, principals will challenge the mental model of a classroom.

• How do principals get clear about their own beliefs and what they believe about the nature of the enterprise they are leading?

• How do leaders consider the needs, motives and values of those they are charged to lead?

• How do leaders empower the students’ voice through the design of the culture in their buildings?
