The PA Principals Association Microcredential for School Leaders:

Managing Crisis and Emergency Planning

What is a micro-credential?

A Micro-Credential is not a course. It is an online, on-demand way to earn a badge that demonstrates your competency. Think of it like earning scout badges.  The process includes submitting and analyzing self-selected artifacts to be evaluated by an assessor in order to earn a shareable badge that you can use in your resumé, email signature, as well as social networks.

In addition, a Micro-Credential is a career-building opportunity. Micro-Credentials evidence your career skills and growth in a tangible, highly-visible way. In Pennsylvania, you can earn professional development credit (30 Act 45 and/or 48 hours per course).

The best part?  Courses are self-paced and 100% online, so you can complete the course according to your calendar.

In order to understand what is involved in the course, we encourage you to first watch the micro-credential video on our website before registering for any micro-credential.

$350.00 per person  - Payment must be received prior to beginning the course.

Registration Process:

1.      Register for one or more Micro-credentials using the course specific link.
2.      Enter all requested information, including a valid payment method.
3.      Once complete, your information will be shared with our Director of Professional Development, Dr. Beth Haldeman.  She will reach out to you to schedule a short, virtual orientation session, prior to the start of your Micro-credential.
4.      Following orientation, your registration will be forward to the Illinois Principal Association and ELN, our vendors and assessors for each of the Micro-credentials.  They will be in touch with you regarding your login credentials and other information necessary to complete your Micro-credential.

Registration is ongoing.

Academic honesty is required in the submission of Micro-Credential artifacts. The use of artificial intelligence technology (e.g., ChatGPT) to generate narratives or fictionalize personal experience is strictly prohibited. Additionally, participant narratives that are substantially identical to another’s work may be investigated for plagiarism.

Any questions should be directed to Dr. Beth Haldeman at haldeman@paprincipals.org
